New Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince Film Trailer Released

Well, we've got yet another trailer for the next Harry Potter film - and yes, we have eight months to go until the film is released since WB decided to postpone the release (which originally was next week!) to July 2009. But it looks spectacular! We can hardly wait.

The latest trailer is great - the movie's visual effects for disapparation is fantastic and much more dramatic than I had imagined when reading the book. (And re-reading: I just finished re-reading Deathly Hallows for the third time.)

oops - where did I get "disapparation"? Must have mentally morphed the words "apparation" and "disappearance" into one word. Silly me, mixing things up again.

I like your word, Monica. I wouldn't be surprised that is how Jo Rowling often invented the HP universe words as well!

Wait, wait! I was partially right, or at least not wrong.
In US hardback Half Blood Prince, page 246, Harry catches Mundungus with items stolen from Sirius's home. While Harry has him held by the throat, Mundungus DISAPPARTES and gets away. Digging further, there are several uses of the word instead of Apparate.

That it! That sounds right - I guess when you do it, you apparate. And when you see someone else do it (i.e., leave you) they disapparate!

Thanks for posting!
